Different Person

Today I will share with you the basic yet most difficult exercise I read recently.
This exercise is about being physically present (power of concentration). I learned that if you continue doing the five things regularly for 30 days then on the 31st day you would be totally different person. I am not only practicing it for the last couple of days but also started to feel the difference and I want you to at least give it a try before letting go of the whole idea of peacefulness.
Some of the preliminary things which you need to do are wake up early and spend time in any open place where you can see the sun rising and feel the freshness in the air. Then you need to settle down, close your eyes, inhale the fresh air and focus on the sounds around you. Not only will you hear the sound of birds but if you focus deeply you will feel your heartbeat synched with the sounds of nature. You will feel connected. This feeling is more than enough to give you a jump start or a healthy positive start to the day. Saying this, I have to tell you that it’s really not that simple and easy to do it. For the most part of this exercise is related to concentration which means that we have to control and focus our minds on very specific needs. The brain starts working as soon as we open our eyes and are about to leave the bed. Many thoughts come around. So many stories continue to build. Multiple scenarios, multiple outcomes, options, and scenarios start coming and the brain starts to do what it’s supposed to do best. Think!.
So you need to make your brain go quiet during this exercise session and focus. Because the moment you think that your brain is in your control, it will swing up to something different and then you have to bring your brain back and concentrate again.
So once you are over with your daily concentration exercise, you will feel the freshness in you and that’s when I want you to think about and take notes of the following five things on daily basis:
First, think about any 5 things you are grateful for.
Second, what comes to your mind when you think about your accomplished life?
Third, what are the five things you want to do/ accomplish today?
Forth, do you have anyone whom you have not talked to in a long while but always wanted to be with or talk to? If yes, then contact them again regardless of how badly the things ended last time.
Fifth, what would you want to if today is your last day of life?
It won’t be easy. It has to be thoughtful. You have to be emotionally present to feel and perform. It will be difficult to follow this routine. But by the end of 30 days, you will find yourself to be more humble and focused with a positive mindset and have developed the patience to listen to people.
