Survival
Survival of the fittest

Before December 2019, life was going smoothly (at least in comparison). But the word COVID 19 changed the meaning of everything. Considering the pandemic scenario in Pakistan, the meaning of education, health, and business was totally changed. Like many other developing countries, Pakistan was also not ready to cope with such massive damage caused by COVID 19.

In the initial stages, when the lockdown was announced, education was like a question mark, because there was no idea of whether how long this pandemic situation will last, no backup plans. Somehow, online classes and exams managed the fall of the education sector. Simultaneously, the health sector was not ready too, fewer hospitals, limited wards, and beds, limited staff, and machinery were the basic challenges towards coping with the situation. Foreign aids and speedy in-house production of required equipment and machinery helped a lot and like the education sector, our health sector also managed to face the pandemic.

The third and most important sector is business, which was badly damaged by COVID 19 and the overall instability of the world’s economy became a challenge and is still struggling with the situation. Talking about Pakistan and its economy, which has been in shackles for a long due to political crisis and terrorism, has no backup to deal with the pandemic situation without or less affecting the economy.

In the past few months, it has been observed that the small business industry has taken charge to deal with the economic problems of our country. Individuals have started their small business, be it home cooking, selling and reselling of products, freelancing, from poultry on a smaller scale to dairy, and many more. This whole pandemic situation has woken us all from smooth lifestyles and put us in really tough times where ‘survival of fittest’ is the only key to pass through. Every single being is born with some talent. All you need is to dig into yourself, leave comfort zones, stand for yourself, for family, and society.

Drop by drop will become an ocean, together we will rise. We can start our own work today. If you know how to cook, start your kitchen. You can design, start graphic designing or fashion designing, painting, sketching, calligraphy. If you are good at writing, start it today. Open different ways of earning to cope with present and future challenges. Now is the right time to adopt technology and make the best use of it. We are already late in this race, maybe this is an eye-opener for us. All needed was a little motivation and this COVID 19 has given a lot of it. Let's become part of this struggle towards a stable nation.
